...and the feasting continues!
As of boxing day evening, my house played non-stop host to friends and relatives. I think I'm gonna have to take back my word of this Christmas being a quieter one. However, definitely an enjoyable one!
Dinner with the girlies was awesome and turned out great! The effort spent whipping up food in the kitchen for the whole afternoon totally payed off. Glad to know the gals enjoyed the food. I think they were a little surprised at the spread of food on the table...coz they were just expecting a simple dinner. But hey, it's Christmas and Jacinta never just does a simple meal during such festive occasions! Haha! So yes, it was nice to have that as an additional surprise for the evening.
So here's the menu for the evening:
1. Mushroom soup with loads of mushrooms
2. Cheese platter with bread and dips
3. Fresh Vietnamese springrolls w thai chili dip4. Cold chili calamari with salad5. Homemade quiche6. Roasted veg7. Roasted black pepper beef & Honey baked ham
8. Roasted rosemary baby potatoes with meatballs9. Deep fried butterflied prawns10. Avocado and mango salsa
Ok, now that I've listed everything down...it sure sounds like quite a bit. =)
Dinner proceeded with just chilling in my bedroom doing the stuff gals do best - gossip and talk, talk, talk the night away...
Topics ranged from work, to past experiences, exciting events, ex-boyfriends and cute guys.... Hey, we're gals afterall. Haha...and all this continued till like 3ish in the morning.
Goodness, the feasting never ended. Part 2 and 3 continued today and once again, the Yeo Kitchen was busy serving up dishes. Lunch saw my relatives from my mum's side pop by while dinner was reserved for the dad's side. Mum whipped up her speciality - Mee Siam (mum's version)! Power!
I'm officially exhausted from the Christmas weekend! Gotta get up nice and early for work tomorrow.
Less than a week till the end of 2009....
